Thank you to the couple (with a house in St Ives) who visited the Bread Street Gallery with such enthusiasm and encouragement!
Nice to see a little Pablo Picasso on show at Martin Val Baker's new 'Rainy Day Gallery' - word soon gets around.. www.rainyday.co.uk
A thank you to the gallery visitor, a collector from St Erth, for his insight and encouragement!
Well done to Maggie Matthews for her very successful show at 'Cornwall Contemporary' - good to see such work fully appreciated!

An excellent Matthew Lanyon painting is to be seen at the 'Rainy Day Gallery' - at 22 foot long, it is quite an outstanding achievement!
The 'Exchange' seems to have died a death. It is now empty, no one knows its there and the very expensive glass frontage is covered with seagull droppings! How we would all like to see SOMETHING on the walls there! Letters continue to be published in the Cornishman.
Good to see David Whittaker promoting his new book, a kind of 'Zawn Lens' 2, at the St Ives Art Club. 'StoneLight' is now available at most local bookshops including the Tate shop and the Salthouse Gallery, St Ives & at: www.wavestonepress.co.uk
A thank you to Peter Davies
for giving me a mention in his new book 'St. Ives 1975 - 2005, Art Colony
in Transition' and for turning up at Bread Street. We hadn't seen hide
nor hair of each other for some twenty five years!
The book is now on sale at all the usual outlets. At the Belgrave Gallery, St
Ives " St. Ives - Selected Artists" coincides with the launch of this
new publication written by Peter www.belgravegallery.com
Lunchtime poetry (and music) outside the Salthouse Gallery during the St Ives Festival is a must-do. What a sunny corner of old St Ives.
Artists Breon O'Casey and Jane O'Malley feature at the Yew Tree Gallery's new exhibition THE IRISH CONNECTION until Oct 27th www.yewtreegallery.com
David Whittaker & myself at the preview

A very interesting showing of Jeremy Le Grice paintings at the Penwith Gallery, St Ives is now open. Also, at long last is the reopening of the Wills Lane Gallery. Both these galleries and the Sheviock Gallery near Torpoint, are fondly remembered as my introduction to 'modernism' westcountry style, back in the late sixties/early 70s! Later I had the good fortune to exhibit at the Wills Lane alongside Patrick Heron thanks to Gilly Gilbert (now retired) www.willslanegallery.co.uk
Late October : St Ives not quite off season...
